Production Manager

Parang Industries Ltd., manufacturers of Walkerswood spices, is seeking a Production Manager.

Purpose of Role:

To carry out the production schedule and enable the labeling & production process to ensure goods are produced safely and efficiently and of a high standard whilst adhering to the HACCP/SQF standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage human resource and material to meet production targets
  •  Liaising with Operations Manager & Group Inventory Controller to ensure that the production schedule is optimizing the order requirements form Customers and building of required stocks.
  • Liaising with Purchasing & Inventory to ensure raw materials and packaging are on hand to meet schedules.
  • Overseeing the production process and drawing up a production schedule to indicate batches being manufactured and human resources allocated-indicating shifts if any
  • Monitoring the product processes and adjusting schedules accordingly
  • Monitoring product standards and implementing the HACCP/SQF quality control programs
  • Reviewing work performance and organizing the necessary interventions for improvement
  • Supervising and motivating a team of workers
  • Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
  • Ensure that all raw materials are returned using the appropriated forms
  • Ensure that production transfer forms are done daily
  • Ensure that the correct raw materials are issued to the correct lines and spot check raw materials to ensure quality control
  • Ensure that all documentation e.g., temperature log, production transfer forms, production logs, packaging transfer forms etc. are correctly filled out and submitted.
  • Reporting to SQF Practitioner, Quality Assurance Manager any breaches of Sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure the Company’s Good Manufacturing Procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure that all employees comply with the Food Safety requirements e.g., attired in uniform, hairnet and beard guard, mask, hands are washed on entering the manufacturing area, no cell phones, no jewelry, no heavy perfume/cologne, no damaged or defective uniforms no sleeveless attire.
  • Ensure staff adhere to covid-19 regulations.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Food Manufacturing Industry
  • Working Knowledge of GMP standards, the Factories Act, and other Food Safety Standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Strong communication and workforce organizational skills
