SCOPE OF THE ROLE
The Credit Officer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a high-quality credit portfolio.

MAIN DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluate loan applications in accordance with the company’s Lending Policy and guidelines.
  • Deliver sound credit risk decisions within the service level agreement.
  • Assist with portfolio reviews for adherence to established performance standards and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports for management and other stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly or other basis as requested by the Chief Risk Officer.
  • Assist with delinquency management, as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and diligence.
  • High levels of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver timely results with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in people management would be an asset
  • Experience in portfolio analysis would be an asset
 
EDUCATION, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • First Degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field from a recognized university or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the financial sector.
  • Fair knowledge of the financial sector laws, regulations and ethics.
  • Experience in retail lending would be an asset.
