The Core of this role is to manage a seafood Processing Plant and a Shrimp farm in a remote, rural community. The candidate must be flexible to adjust.
Strategically manage a Processing Plant and Shrimp farm to achieve agreed production targets and company profitability.
• Prepare annual operational budget, forecast processing activities, and liaise with regional Managing Directors.
• Develop and maintain healthy relationships with local regulatory agencies.
• Maintain compliance with local and international food regulatory bodies.
• Manage facilities, processing and maintenance issues and resolve to mitigate downtime and none compliance.
• Recruit and retain a committed productive workforce.
• Provide leadership to team, including facilitating training and development. Ensure Managers conduct annual performance reviews.
• Represent the Company on local emerging matters, attend meetings and seek to resolve conflicts or grievance matters.
• Ensure documentation that supports the HACCP Program for the Plant’s Safety and Food Quality standards are current and regularly updated.
• Create a safe workplace culture to eliminate injuries, theft and conflict.
Skills and Experience
• BSc Operations Management/Business or related qualification
• Five years Business Management or Operational experience.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety.
•Excellent Leadership, communication and analytical skills
• Knowledge of:
o Shrimp farming
o Seafood or food manufacturing plant
o Food processing Machinery and equipment
