Internal Debt Collections Agent

The Internal Debt Collections Specialist is responsible for contacting customers with overdue payments, assisting in creating feasible payment plans and negotiating resolutions for delinquencies ranging from 15-120 days.

**Position Overview:**

As an Internal Debt Collections Specialist, you will play an integral role in our operations. You will be responsible for contacting customers who have fallen behind in their payments, helping them establish viable payment plans, and negotiating resolutions to recent delinquencies of 15-120 days.

**Responsibilities:**

- Reach out to customers to inquire about overdue payments and explain the debt owed.

- Review terms of loan contracts with customers.

- Persuade customers to pay amounts due on loan agreements.

- Negotiate repayment plans based on customers' financial situations.

- Record information about financial status of customers and status of collection efforts using databases.

- Maintain and update customer account records.

- Arrange for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules, based on customers' financial situations.

- Comply with federal and state laws regarding debt collections.

- Regularly report to management regarding collection activities and progress of assigned accounts.

**Qualifications:**

- Minimum 2 years previous experience within the debt collection space in a call center environment.

- Minimum 4 CXC passes including English and Mathematics / equivalent certifications.

- Able to work in a phone based, customer focused, target-driven environment.

- Must be a skilled communicator with high energy level and persuasion skills.

- Able to work a fully flexible schedule to include all days and shifts as assigned, including weekends and holidays.

- Possess strong computer skills; must be proficient in the use of computer applications and internet browser

- Dependable and punctual in assigned work schedule.
