SALARY SCALE: $1,201,281.78- $1,309,397.20 per annum
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for washing dishes, glassware and silverware and ensuring that there is a timely and sufficient supply of these to facilitate the orderly and prompt delivery of lunch to employees. The incumbent is also responsible for cleaning the canteen and kitchen areas.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
• Health and safety protocols for handling food
• Customer service training
• Valid Food Handler’s permit
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• HEART Level 1 – Food Preparation
• At least 2 years working experience
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Wash and dry dishes, silverware and glassware
• Clean trays and set out and have them available for employees to use
• Ensure glassware is organised at all times, and dishware stored in the proper locations
• Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables
• Stock items ordered in cupboard
• Polish silver when directed
• Sweep and mop the kitchen and canteen areas
• Assist kitchen personnel with preparation of the canteen for non-lunch time activities
• When requested, assist with the preparation of the ingredients to be used for lunch
• Facilitate, when required, with pest control activities to include
- Removing all food items and utensils from the shelves in the storeroom and at the workstations and placing them in the dining hall
- Pre-clean the surfaces by removing grease build up on the wall, stoves etc
- Oversee the spraying
- After pest control treatment is completed and dried, wipe all counters, and serving stations, wash the pots and pans, repack the shelves
• Monitor trash levels in all bins and remove as needed, ensuring bin is available for use.
