The incumbent will be responsible for the development and execution of all marketing and promotional activities to drive sales, maximize brand awareness and improve brand health.

Job Summary-The Brand Officers will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing and promotional activities to drive sales, maximize brand awareness and improve brand health. The incumbent will report to the Manager Marketing.:

  • Lead the development and execution of annual marketing plans to address aspects of the marketing mix - product, pricing, placement, and promotions including above the line media campaigns as well as below the line brand activation events.
  • Manage the Advertising and Promotions budget and ensure alignment with approved brand plans and budget.
  • Collaborate with Advertising Agencies and other partners to deliver communication and creative assets in support of marketing calendar.
  • Prepare monthly sales and marketing reports to measure performance against key business KPIs – revenue, profit, market share and brand health.
  • Measure and report the performance of above the line advertising campaigns and below the line activations assessing return on investment based on brand and campaign KPIs.
  • Conduct regular trade audits which monitor existing brand portfolio shelf presence, pricing compliance, distribution levels, competitive activity and in-store promotional trends and opportunities for investment.
  • Conduct quarterly pricing analyses via price surveys and analyze category trends in market to assess relevance on consumer minds and propose initiatives to drive market share.
  • Leverage data and trends to generate insights and transform them into marketing innovation, brand building (communications) and retail programs.
  • Collaborate with the Innovation Pipeline Cross Functional team to facilitate the commercialization process to launch products to the target audience effectively.
  • Work with the Brand Trade Activation Officer, Sales Representatives and Key Customers to formulate appropriate channel activities which include, trade marketing programs, consumer promotions, training seminars, merchandising and display solutions and any other activity required.
  • Work with Brand Trade Activation Officer to identify and lead key brand activation, experiential marketing, and sponsorship events to enhance brand positioning in the minds of the target audience.
  • Monitor product expiration dates of assigned brands in warehouses and on trade and implement measures to reduce losses and maximize profitability.
  • Work closely with the Procurement Department to source and procure marketing and promotional items required to support approved marketing and trade programs.
  • Coordinate administrative work associated with brand portfolio. This includes but is not limited to, the creation of requisitions, preparation and submission of letters, memos and approval documents, registration for events and direct placement of media bookings.
  • Perform any other duties as may be required in the role.

Qualifications and Experience 

  • B.A. /B. Sc. Business Management, or Marketing from a recognized institution.
  • M.B.A. would be considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong research and strategic analysis skills
  • Ability to work independently, autonomously and adapt to change quickly to deliver results.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
