Job Description:
- Cost effectively manages the maintenance of the Quality Management System based on ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and all other relevant manufacturing and food safety requirements, to ensure Ansa Polymer and Carib Glassworks Limited maintain certification.
- Accomplishes quality assurance objectives by monitoring, reviewing, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve product and process quality, consistency, and performance.
- Engage in activities to determine customer needs and expectations in an effort to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Manage the internal auditing program, assessing the performance of the quality management system, reporting its effectiveness to senior management, and implementing actions for improvement.
- Direct the training of and/or train and coach staff on matters of quality and safety to ensure that all quality standards are met.
- Ensure the monitoring of key quality parameters to drive to drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain effective media for informing, updating, and receiving input from employees on quality and safety matters.
- Analyse and review the cost of quality and safety trends and report same to Executive Management.
- Monitor product quality and maintain customer requirements by ensuring the promotion of awareness of these customer requirements throughout the organization.
- To comply with the Company’s/ Department’s procedures and policies belonging to the Quality Management System and the Health, Safety & Environmental Management System.
- To fulfill the legal duties of the Occupational Safety & Health Act 2004 as an employee.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
- Master’s Degree in food science or related field considered an asset.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ QA experience, two (2) of which must be in a Leadership role.
- Formal training in principles of Quality Management and auditing.
- Considerable knowledge of Total Quality Management, process improvement techniques, scientific and statistical tools.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and relevant software packages.
