The Facilities Engineer is tasked with supporting the upkeep, maintenance and sanitation of the network of gas stations, convenience stores and of the company and subsidiary.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Facilities Engineer is tasked with supporting the upkeep, maintenance and sanitation of the network of gas stations, convenience stores and of the company and subsidiary. He/She oversees and coordinates the workers who maintain and repair electrical, plumbing, ventilation, refrigeration, and other building systems within the company’s network. He/She ensure that physical spaces are upkept compliant to the aesthetic and regulatory standards as prescribed by the company, Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries standards, Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standard and any other regulatory/statutory requirement.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Support the execution of Maintenance and Sanitation projects including design, scope/BOQ, and construction.

• Ensuring that all physical spaces are safe, functional and aesthetically pleasing.

• Ensure that all plans meet local building codes and other regulations.

• Manage the day-to-day operations of facilities including maintenance and repair work as needed.

• Design, develop, and implement plans for new facilities or major facility renovations.

• Conduct inspections of existing facilities to identify issues with structure, function, and safety.

• Support the planning, design, construction and/or maintenance of facilities.

• Coordinate with contractors to determine schedules, materials, and labor needs for projects.

• Inspect facilities to identify potential hazards and take steps to eliminate them.

• Troubleshoot problems with equipment such as plumbing and electrical systems and rectify.

• Perform cost analyses on potential projects to determine their feasibility.

 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS 

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, or related discipline, such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional certification or accreditation from an international facility maintenance certifying body such as the International Facility Management Association.
  • A minimum of four (4) years' experience in the any segment of the Petrochemical Industry or Process Engineering Industries, of which a minimum of two (2) years must be at the supervisory level.
  • Computer literate, with knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products.
