MAINTENANCE OFFICER- KSEZ PORTMORE INFORMATICS PARK
An organization engaged in industrial and maritime development, wishes to recruit a MAINTENANCE OFFICER at the Kingston Special Economic Zone Portmore Informatics Park.
SALARY SCALE: $3,350,847.20- $4,020,883.33 per annum
JOB SUMMARY
The position is responsible for coordinating maintenance and repair activities of the buildings, paved areas, roadways, drains, sewers, landscaping, electrical and mechanical fixtures and equipment, grounds security, garbage disposal and external pest control at the Portmore Informatics Park. In addition to the implementation of approved projects supporting Logistics and BPO services, including the Incubator. The requirements include always assuring strict adherence to operating standards and precautionary guidelines.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Building maintenance practices and techniques
- Occupational health and safety guidelines and practices
- SEZ operations
- Technical skills to execute minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other hands-on maintenance related tasks on the property
- AutoCAD
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualifications
- Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety PLUS
- Three years’ experience in general building maintenance
- Diploma in Mechanical/Systems Engineering/General Building Maintenance OR
- HEART/VDTI Level III PLUS
- Eight (8) years’ experience in general building maintenance
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General maintenance and upkeep of the assigned property and all electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
- Oversee implementation of all third-party vendor contracts and ensure that works are carried out in keeping with contracted service level agreements.
- Inspect the physical assets and facilities, as required and prepare status reports and or other reports for emergency corrective action
- Under the directive of the Property Manager, implement minor works maintenance projects aimed at ensuring preservation of plant and property
- Coordinate the landscaping and cleaning of the compound and maintenance service contracts, ensure that generated work orders are completed.
- Execute maintenance tasks for routine corrective plumbing, electrical, general building repairs and prepare updates on ongoing projects and requests.
- Work in conjunction with the Property Manager to oversee preparation of space for new clients.
- Monitor the fuel and water levels for generators and water tanks to ensure adequate supplies are maintained.
- Perform daily checks on elevators, fire and water pumps and other electromechanical devices to ensure that they are working adequately.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards; report observed breaches to the Property Manager for remedial action to be taken.
