HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER

CONTRACT

The Financial Services Commission (FSC) is an integrated financial services regulator.  The FSC has an immediate opening for the position of Human Resources Manager.

 SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the operational functions of the Human Resources (HR) department and is responsible for ensuring that the FSC’s policies and practices are successfully managed.

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the daily operational workflow of the department.

• Assist with the developing of HR related policies, systems and procedures
• Manages new hire orientation and onboarding processes
• Assist with union negotiations
• Manage the FSC’s performance management process
• Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs, such as the Health and Group Life schemes, Pension Plan and other staff benefits
• Identify training and development needs within the organization.

• Promote a positive work environment and foster strong employee relations

• Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• A master’s degree or its equivalent Professional Level Certification in disciplines such as: Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in human resource management with a focus on general HR practices and policies.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Jamaican Labour Laws and HR best practices
