The Accounts Payables Officer is mainly required to receive and post invoices and credit notes from suppliers of goods or services and to make related payments in a timely manner.

Job Title:            Accounts Payables Officer (Temporary)

Department:       Accounts

Reports To:        Financial Controller

 

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 Main:

  1. Obtain and post invoices and credit notes from suppliers of goods or services.

 

  1. Ensure all shipments are posted and closed in a timely manner.

 

  1. Ensure payments to suppliers are made in keeping with credit terms.

 

  1. Files payment vouchers, invoices and credit notes.

 

  1. Make statutory and salary deduction payments.

 

  1. Monthly analysis of assigned schedules

 

  1. Monthly reconciliation of assigned supplier accounts

 

  1. Generate monthly journals for accruals and prepayments.

 

  1. Performs other duties required as instructed by the Financial Controller.

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Academic Qualifications & Experience:Degree in Business Administration or Qualified Accounting Technician (CAT/AAT) or pursuing ACCA

  1. Minimum of 5 CXC/CSEC (including English Language, Principles of Accounts and Mathematics)
  2. Has a minimum of 2 years work experience as an Accounts Payables Officer

 

 Skills/abilities/attributes:

 

  1. Is confidential with integrity.
  2. Has excellent numerical and accounting skills.
  3. Pay close attention to details.
  4. Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
  5. Is able to interface with personnel at all levels.
  6. Is able to perceive and resolve potential or existing problems objectively. 
  7. Is highly motivated and credible.

 

Contract Period:  4-5 months.
