The incumbent is required to provide clerical and administrative support to the Department which includes paying close attention to detail, organizational skills, computer literacy and accuracy.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate transmittal sheets for documents being forwarded throughout the organization.
  • Dispatching of renewal notices and listings to all customers (broker, agents, direct)
  • Utilize Insure 90 system for querying the type of cover, last users, inception dates etc.
  • Takes minutes of meetings, develops schedules, task lists, and disseminates to relevant employees.
  • Efficient coordination of meetings with staff, and clients as required
  • Dispatch, print, stamp, bind and email documents to all customers (broker, agents, direct) banks and place original in collection tray.
  • Scan and upload policy messages/instructions via Lansa to underwriters to action
  • Collect and dispatch documents from courier/staff/ customers (broker, agents, direct)
  • Enter Quotes on LANSA system
  • Sort Scanned Documents
  • Complete Excel Sheets for DMU
  • Keeping workspace organized in terms of company files, records and stationery
  • Attending to walk-in customers/ Customer Service
  • Address basic customer queries
  • Follow up on outstanding documents and/or receivables
  • Answer telephone calls in a professional manner and take accurate messages, including those in confidence.
  • Complete and other job related task that is related to the Sales and Business Division.
KEY TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the core principles of insurance and how this is applied on a day to day basis
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the range of insurance products and services available in the market and how that knowledge can be used to meet client needs.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements and how to meet these on a day to day basis.
  • Basic knowledge of how claims should be handled and managed.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the Underwriting processes and procedures which is needed for new risks, alterations, renewals and/or cancellations to be processed in an accurate and timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of five (5) CXC passes including Math and English (minimum grade 2)
  • Certification in TTII State License will be an asset.
  • Minimum 0 – 6 years insurance related experience. 
Remuneration:
  • Salary:- $4500. - $5500.
