JOB TITLE:                              Clinical Psychologist

 

DEPARTMENT:                        Behavioral Health Services

 

MINISTRY:                             Ministry of Health and Human Services   

LOCATION:                             The job is based in Providenciales / Grand Turk with occasional visits to the other islands as needed and at the discretion of TCI Public Service may be relocated to another part of TCI.

JOB SUMMARY:  

To provide effective and quality psychological services to clients with mental health disorders.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide individual, couple, and group counselling/ therapy services for full range of clinical issues.
  2. Provide crisis intervention services when called upon
  3. Adhere to the code of ethics and professional standards governing the practise of psychology (e.g. APA/ACA)
  4. Assists in the development of policies and procedures regarding the counselling/ mental health needs of the general public.
  5. Prepare annual report of activities
  6. Engages in research activities when necessary.
  7. Incorporates/ interprets psychological, aptitude and vocational tests in counselling work as needed.
  8. Keep knowledge/skills current through participation in professional conferences, reading etc.
  9. Participate in treatment team meetings/ case conferences.
  10. Attend and participate in department/ interagency meetings when requested.
  11. Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
  12. Prepare and maintain appropriate client records and reports. (Including initial assessment, treatment plans, progress, termination and referral notes etc.)
  13. Supervise staff where allocated
  14. Assists in the clinical supervision, training and evaluation of counsellors and interns within the department
  15. Adhere to all Public Service codes, rules and regulations

 

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology from an accredited program

 

Experience:  

Essential:

  • A minimum of (5) years experience in the field of mental health/ psychological services.
  • Experience working with various populations/ issues such as substance abuse, suicidality and sexual assault, and experience conducting psychological tests and assessments

Desirable:

  • Experience providing supervision and training of mental health trainees
  • Experience conducting research

 

SALARY: Grade 8.1 - $54,789.20 per annum plus allowances
