The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision and handling of all warehousing and distribution functions at the organisation’s warehouse facilities.

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision and handling of all warehousing and distribution functions at the organisation’s warehouse facilities. This includes accountability for inbound and outbound inventory as well as adherence to legislation, safety and organisational policies and procedures. The Warehouse Supervisor will accomplish effective logistical oversight through strong supervision and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the overall supervision of the inventory and the controls within the Warehouse.
  2. Supervise the receipt, verification and recording of all incoming inventory.
  3. Assist to ensure that inventory quantities and locations are managed at all times and reflected on system.
  4. Assist to investigate and provide reports for all damaged inventory on a case-by-case basis.
  5. Ensure incorrect inventory received is recorded and submitted to the Assistant Warehouse Floor Manager for follow-up.
  6. Supervise the dispatch of all inventories.
  7. Maintain accuracy of stock records by ensuring that all paperwork and electronic systems are completed, and all inventory is properly and accurately accounted for as evident from the result of the stock-taking exercise.
  8. Assist to identify and investigate each/any variances observed, and to identify & provide reports on any stock which is damaged or obsolete.
  9. Assist to uphold count schedule (weekly, cycle, quarterly and year end) & reconciled within allotted time.
  10. Assist to conduct 100% (wall to wall) quarterly counts of all departments inclusive of parts and service.
  11. Ensure all items are stored in designated areas (locations), all items are properly labeled, sorted by category, packed orderly, barcodes/model and serial information able to be visible for
  12. Ensure that the product/inventory that is transferred to logistics/dispatch team are the correct items.
  13. Verify that the product/inventory received from the inbound team is accurately packed in the correct locations, and immediately reflected on the system.
  14. Monitor and report on the productivity of Warehouse personnel including developing KPIs, monitoring and evaluating their performance.
  15. Manage absenteeism and misconduct in accordance with company procedures including written reprimand.
  16. Ensure that all requests for inventory and delivery of products are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  17. Work with management and staff to identify cost efficiencies and opportunities for improvements.
  18. Ensure the security of all company assets.
  19. Facilitate and participate in training of warehouse personnel in all aspects of their responsibilities, including OSHA requirements.
  20. Prepare and submit reports to the Assistant Warehouse Floor Manager/Logistics Manager as required.
  21. Comply with Group’s processes and policies as set out and stated in ANSA McAL Blue Book.
  22. Any other duties, which may be assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication & organisational skills.
  • Ability to analyse and execute in a fast paced and time sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to train and motivate team members
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Associate Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management/Business Management or a related field.
  • CIPS Certificate.
  • Certification/qualifications in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Warehouse/Logistics/Inventory Control, 2 of which should be at a supervisory level.
