OBSTETRICIAN/GYNAECOLOGIST (FAITH HOSPITAL)

OBSTETRICIAN/GYNAECOLOGIST (FAITH HOSPITAL)

Salary range: CI$164,690– CI$182,198 per annum

Additional Physician Allowance: CI$6,018 to CI$25,465 per annum

The Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist provides obstetric, gynaecological, emergency, and primary care services to patients referred for treatment to the Faith hospital, and little Cayman clinic in line with international best practice and the post holder’s registered qualifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  The successful candidate provides 24-hour obstetrics/gynaecology services at Faith Hospital which includes regular antenatal, post-natal clinics, gynaecology outpatient clinics and general ward rounds on an agreed basis.  The candidate also provides ER coverage in rotation with other specialists which includes 1:4 weekend on call and assists the Consultant General Surgeon in the operating room for elective and emergency cases as needed. The successful candidate manages patients at Little Cayman Health Centre once per month on a rotational basis with other Physicians at Faith Hospital, providing obstetric and gynaecological services and assists with neonatal resuscitation when there is no Paediatrician on island.  The candidate also assists colleagues in other disciplines and works in close cooperation in the management of patients.

Qualification & Experience:

The successful candidate must possess a primary medical degree and specialist qualifications (i.e MB ChB and FRCS or MBBS and DM -Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from a recognised institution and be eligible for registration with the Cayman Islands Health Practice Commission.  The successful candidate must also have a minimum of seven (7) years post graduate experience in the specialty working in a healthcare setting.  Previous experience in performing laparoscopic surgeries is an asset.  The ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team is highly essential.
