Our Client, Home Mortgage Bank, is seeking to fill the position of Account Manager

Objective:

Responsible for business development activities including the identification of new sales opportunities, marketing and presenting the Bank’s commercial mortgage services and converting opportunities into long-term sustainable revenue. To grow the Bank’s commercial mortgage portfolio by identifying, closing and maintaining high impact relationships and partnerships with key players, developers and agents in the commercial mortgage field. Ensures a high level of employee capability and engagement through coaching, empowering team members to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To build and manage an active pipeline of potential commercial customers for the creation and growth of the Bank’s revenue, contacting potential customers to establish rapport, scheduling meetings and attending conferences, meetings and industry events.
  • To assist in strategic business development planning.
  • To build and maintain lasting relationships with customers, Real Estate Developers, Agents and other relevant parties, collating and interpreting customer feedback to facilitate improved commercial mortgage services and to develop innovative strategies for retaining clients.
  • To manage client relationships for an assigned portfolio of accounts including after sales support and monitoring.
  • To underwrite commercial loan applications
  • To engage in market research to identify potential new leads, customers and markets, and their specific mortgage needs.
  • To assist with the development and implementation of marketing strategies and initiatives.
  • To explain the value proposition of HMB’s products and services to potential customers, following up to close the business.
  • To keep abreast of developments in the industry, monitoring and reporting on industry trends and competitors’ performance and strategies.
  • To participate in forums related to the industry including conferences, client discussions, acting as a Company representative.
  • To determine and act on cross-selling opportunities among departments.
  • To monitor revenue targets and prepare status and other reports as required.
  • To act in a supervisory and advisory capacity as required, providing coaching and feedback for the ongoing development of team members and the department’s overall effectiveness.
  • To perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial sales or new accounts role in a bank environment.
  • Deep understanding of industry issues.
  • Certificate in Banking and Certificate for Financial Advisors.
