Electrical Reliability Engineer

Collect, analyse and interpret equipment performance data. Ownership of equipment maintenance strategies an manage condition monitoring programs. Interact extensively with internal and external parties. Help develop annual maintenance operational and sustaining capital budgets.

JOB PURPOSE

Responsibility to collect, analyse and interpret equipment performance data across all the Company’s work areas. Take ownership of equipment maintenance strategies and manage condition monitoring programs. Interact extensively with internal and external parties, including Maintenance, Operations and Facilities Maintenance groups as well as supplies authorities and statutory bodies. Contribute to the development of the annual maintenance operational and sustaining capital budgets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDE:

• Actively promote safety culture and hazard awareness
• Maintain production goals and objectives as a team with a strong focus on Ship-to-Shore crane reliability and statutory compliance
• Ensure full compliance with the safety, the Factories Act and other statutory codes and regulations
• Practice and promote Company environmental, health, safety and operational policies and procedures
• Provide hands on practical technical support to the managers, supervisors, technicians and other maintenance personnel in the resolution of technical equipment issues and actively participate in KFTL Continuous Improvement Program
• Report all accidents, unsafe positions, defected equipment, and safety complaints from the department to HSE representative.  Investigate, represent, and provide technical reports for any incidents. Participate in Root Cause Analysis of failures when required
• Responsible for the effectiveness of equipment maintenance strategies including regular auditing and maintenance.  Ensure relevant maintenance data is being collected, analysed and interpreted to identify opportunities to improve reliability and maintainability of plant. Report equipment reliability KPIs and ensure equipment failures are investigated and resulting recommendations implemented.
• Ensure condition monitoring programs (vibe, oil, IR, NDT, etc.) are established for critical equipment, are efficiently and effectively managed and safe work procedures are in place.
• Conduct IR Thermography inspections as required
• Manage the reliability services agreements, champion the site reliability education and awareness programs, prepare the objectives and performance goals of the Reliability Team and clearly communicate these

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KEY COMPETENCIES

• BSc in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
• Minimum ten (10) years’ relevant experience, preferably in the heavy industrial maintenance field
• Fully qualified to perform IR Thermography
• Has the skill of quality job execution, ability to plan jobs in coordination with colleagues, other Departments, lead work teams and apply analytical think in problem solving
• Well-developed oral, written communication and report writing skills, experience with CMMS
• Extensive knowledge of site safety, health and environmental regulations as they pertain to industrial maintenance
• Significant reliability experience within a large-scale marine terminals, ports, complex processing plant or heavy industry
• Self-motivated, dynamic, organized, disciplined, and responsible.
• The ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously and work under pressure is essential and implement continuous improvement plan.
