Human Resource Officer
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resource Officer to join our team. As a Human Resource Officer, your primary responsibilities will include updating employee files, handling disciplinary actions, and conducting research to support HR initiatives. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our HR department and maintaining compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain accurate employee records and files, including personal information, employment contracts, and performance evaluations.
- Manage and process employee documentation, such as leave requests, benefits enrolment, and termination paperwork.
- Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant labour laws and regulations.
- Handle disciplinary actions and grievances, conducting investigations and providing appropriate guidance and recommendations.
- Conduct research on HR-related topics, including compensation and benefits benchmarks, industry trends, and best practices, to support decision-making.
- Assist in coordinating employee training programs and development initiatives.
- Support the recruitment process, including job posting, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
- Assist with employee onboarding and orientation, ensuring a smooth integration into the company.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and handle HR-related matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Stay updated on changes in labour laws and HR practices to ensure compliance and recommend process improvements when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an HR role or related administrative position is preferred.
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance in HR practices.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct research and analyse data to support HR initiatives.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle employee conflicts and disciplinary issues tactfully.
