Job Summary
The Investment Analyst is responsible for researching, analysing and documenting financial and
other relevant data to monitor the investments opportunities and factors that could impact the
markets.
Key duties and Responsibilities
• Gathers and analyses data on economic and market trends, earnings prospects, financial
statements, and other relevant indicators and factors
• Conducts due diligence on entities and industries to identify strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats within the context of the investment of NISSS’ funds
• Prepares financial models and projections to assist in forecasting investment outcomes
• Monitors the market for investment opportunities and factors that could impact the
markets
• Prepares reports and presentations on investment opportunities and market trends
• Assists with conducting periodic reviews of the performance of the Board’s investment
portfolios in terms of credit analysis, adherence to policies and procedures and
completion and maintenance of security
• Assists with the analysis and review of NISSS’s foreign investment portfolios
• Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical
packages and graphic packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or
reports
• Performs any other job-related duties that may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
• A postgraduate qualification in Finance, Economics or Investments and not less than four
years’ relevant experience or
• A degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting and not less than six years’ relevant
experience

• Knowledge of Financial Administration and Audit Act and other legislation under which
the organization functions
• Knowledge of the functioning of local, regional and capital markets
