Candidate will be responsible for accuracy, accountability and security of all Inventory and related procedures within the Group.
Key responsibilities -
Establish and maintain data accuracy with ERP systems by ensuring documentation procedures are followed at all times.
Managing an Inventory team for continual performance improvement
Maintain availability of stock ahead of target to optimize sales opportunities and keep Inventory within budgets.
Plan and execute fortnightly raw materials and weekly finished goods meetings with the various managers and inventory coordinators.
Work with all departments in the supply chain – Purchasing, Finance, Sales, Customs & Production teams.
Ensure stock variances between sub-ledger and general ledger are reconciled monthly
Plan and execute mid-year and year end physical stock checks for the entire group.
Plan and execute fortnightly cycle counts for the entire group in each warehouse
Ensuring cut off procedures are followed and adjustments made where necessary
Entering rough stock count information and generating and addressing the variances in the variance report with respective warehouse managers
Be fully accountable for any movements, variances, theft or data entry errors
Updating stock for all movements, that is, stock transfers, goods received, etc.
Creating new inventory files and formulas on software
Maintain cleaning and housekeeping schedules in conjunction with HSE department
Ensure obsolete items are checked and secured separately from good stock.
Ensure goods received are properly labelled before going into storage. Ensure proper stock rotation to avoid expiration.
Identify slow moving items for disposal.
Develop, improve or communicate policies and procedures with regards to Physical Inventory Procedures, Inventory control, stock rotation and management
Qualifications & Experience -
First Degree in Inventory Management or relevant discipline
High level of efficiency, precision, accuracy and follow-through
Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
CIPS certification would be considered an asset
At least 5 years' experience in a similar position focused on Inventory, logistics and warehouse management
In-debt knowledge of GP Dynamics and Batchmaster is necessary for this post.
Experience with MS Office suite especially Excel, Access and Power Point.
