International Sales Manager

The international sales manager is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities in overseas markets, providing incremental growth to company turnover and profit; ensuring that the products are made available by establishing strong working relationships with partners, analyzing customer trends and developing sales plans and strategies to meet their needs.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • To monitor all export sales transactions and review all customer responses for all orders and payments as well as resolve all customer issues to that targets are met.
  • Responsible for the achievement of financial targets and the implementation of strategies to achieve them.
  • To have knowledge in the following areas: agriculture specifically irrigation, water and wastewater treatment and alternative energy
  • Attracts, recruits, and retains all talent required of the team.
  • To initiate any efforts to develop constructive and effective solutions to any issues that slow down or interfere with export procedures and activities.
  • To ensure that existing clients are retained and maintained while developing new customers.
  • Administer all export goods and ensure compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure product compliances with market laws of the destination markets.
  • Monitor all financial and currency processes and transactions and manage all communication with export authorities for all required countries.
  • Manage product margins in line with business profitability and market relevance.
  • Maintain competitive pricing in line with price optimization.
  • Collaborate with marketing team for the development of marketing and promotional support to increase brand awareness and increase sales in key markets.
  • Provide business support through partnering with the company’s factory managers and leadership team to drive sales, design and develop new products and services to improve business unit performance.
  • Develop and execute trade plans relevant to all categories of products.
  • Gather international market intelligence to identify and secure suitable new business opportunities across all the Company’s product lines.
  • Monitor all existing and prospective markets within the CARICOM, region, North and Latin America in order to identify appropriate business opportunities.
  • Coordinate and plan participation in all trade shows and ensure all activities according to customer specifications.
  • Maintain all operational records to prepare project sales and establish profitability in organization.
  • This role requires the incumbent to work on occasional weekends and holidays.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Four (4) years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within a manufacturing and distribution environment, of which at least two (2) should be in the areas of exports and international customer relationships
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently
  • Effective problem analysis and resolution at the strategic and functional level
  • Ability to interact successfully with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Experience in travel throughout the Caribbean and Latin America to meet distributors and clients would be considered an asset
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of Trading Agreements within CARICOM and Latin America would be considered an asset
  • Exceptional time and budget management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and managing simultaneous budgets.
  • Highly customer focused.
