Intern Treasury Support

This position will be responsible for a wide variety of duties related to treasury and working capital management and other activities as management may deem necessary.

Objective

This position will be responsible for a wide variety of duties related to treasury and working capital management and other activities as management may deem necessary. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with local and regional treasury policies and procedures, as well as meeting the company's objectives, needs and requirements in terms of cash management and working capital strategies.

Main Responsibilities include:   

Cash Management.

• Monitor and provide oversight of overall liquidity and maintain optimal cash position limits for Trinidad and Tobago Business Units assigned and ensure compliance with Miller Orr Limits defined.
• Upload payments to the bank portals on the scheduled dates for local and international suppliers. Will require working closely with the Finance department and Procurement department to ensure payments are processed in a timely manner.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash flow forecast for local business units and monthly cash closing estimates for the Group.
• Manage/maintain cheque log, prepare cheque payments.
• Prepare/Review Daily Cash Report for the Trinidad and Tobago Business Units assigned. 

Banking.

• Manage relationships with key contacts at each international and local bank.
• Administration of bank accounts and keeping them updated.  Update banking resolutions as required.
• Manage and maintain Credit Card reports updated as needed.
• Understand global banking practices, including country specific regulations.
• Support the work on strategic alliances with banks to improve our working capital position and to evaluate new products and/or services that may benefit our customers and suppliers.
• Support strategic finance initiatives as needed including external financing and working capital facilities.
• Manage FX Transactions as required by the local business units.
• Manage local debt lines- Term & Revolving loans; maintain interest schedules and ensure interest & principal payments are remitted on time, if applicable.

Reporting and Compliance

• Assist external and internal audits of the area.
• Understand and adhere to the guidelines defined in the internal policies for treasury processes.
• Preparation of financial reports and reports at the request of management and/or regional and corporate requests.
• Review and comply with the treasury reporting schedules.
• Maintain intercompany loan or investment agreements and determine when new intercompany agreements are needed, if applicable.
• Identify risks and inefficiencies with respect to treasury operations and propose strategies to mitigate those risks and inefficiencies.
• Update monthly the FX rates in SAP as needed.

Others

• Ensure payments are recorded in SAP before processing them in the bank platforms.
• Other tasks and responsibilities in support of the Finance, Tax, Commercial and Operational Teams, as assigned.
• Cover the treasury activities of the Trinidad and Tobago Business Units in absences of the Treasury Coordinator.

Required Education/Expertise/Skills:

• BSc in Finance/Management. Must
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Ms Teams, Outlook, etc.).
• Effective Communication
• Computer Literacy
• Numerical ability
• Data analysis

Required Experience:

• Graduate with at least 1 years’ experience.
• Regarding finance and accounting field experience.
