The Information Technology Manager is responsible for the management of all on-site hardware, software installations and control, network administration and database management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Installation and interfacing of new and current hardware.
  2. Training and assisting staff when new software or hardware is introduced to the company.
  3. Ensuring that the Network protection/security is optimised at all times, firewalls and virus protection are in place and maintained and updated as appropriate.  
  4. Ensuring a high level of security is achieved while not unduly affecting system performance within the clinic; specifically in relation to ‘Patient Data Protection’.
  5. Installation, quality control and access control of all software packages distributed through-out the clinic.
  6. Accurate recording of all licences used within the clinic and tracking of licence requirements for all software package. This is especially important of patient critical software. 
  7. Responsible for the Network configuration, administration and maintenance for the entire organization.
  8. Management at a technical level of the information systems (all databases).
  9. Continuous review of hardware profile and expert opinion to management on the availability of new technologies that may meet the needs of this clinic.
  10. Perform other related duties as required. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of technical management and information analysis of computer hardware/software systems.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

 

 

 

  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Ability to document and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external partners.
  • Ability to lead and promote teamwork, to think creatively and strategically and to demonstrate flexibility.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress, to prioritize, multi- task within tight deadlines and respond to changing demands.
  • Ability to use initiative and pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity and maintain confidentiality.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Sciences and/or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
  • CISCO Certification
  • At least five (5) years’ work experience in a similar position.
  • Experience managing an IT Team

OTHER:

  • Must be able to work a shift system, weekends and public holidays.
