Job Summary:

The Tryall Club is searching for an accomplished Information Technology Director with a proven track record, boasting at least eight years of experience in Information Systems/Technology. The ideal candidate will showcase robust infrastructure skills coupled with an in-depth understanding of computer equipment, ensuring the seamless operation of the Club's Network Systems. Beyond technical prowess, the role encompasses vital managerial responsibilities, including effective team oversight, strategic reporting of performance metrics to the board, and the adept selection and development of departmental metrics. Active participation in project oversight, vendor management, and continual contributions to technology planning is an integral aspect of this multifaceted position. As a self-motivated individual with outstanding organizational and communication skills, the Director will navigate intricate technical and interpersonal challenges while upholding The Tryall Club's standards for safe and efficient operations. The role further requires a commitment to availability for after-hour duties, adding a dynamic dimension to this impactful position.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information management, or a related field, with other professional IT qualifications. (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in information technology and its management.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in Information Systems/Technology in a management position.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT governance frameworks, regulations, and best practices within an enterprise context.
  • Certification in Corporate Governance, such as Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
  • Possession of recognized project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) would be an asset.
  • Proven proficiency in networking, cloud computing, and delivering excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of emerging technologies, trends, and their practical applications, along with proficiency in evaluating and implementing technology solutions that enhance operational effectiveness. 

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with the CFO to meticulously prepare the annual IT budget, ensuring financial alignment, and optimizing resource allocation to support organizational goals.
  • Proven capability in developing training plans for subordinates, including identifying skill gaps, providing opportunities for professional development, and fostering a skilled and capable IT workforce.
  • Proven ability to develop comprehensive 5-year IT plans to align technology initiatives with organizational goals and to support long-term strategic objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in collaborating with auditors to ensure transparency, compliance, and continual improvement in IT governance, particularly in the context of external audits.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous research on IT strategies, staying updated on technological advancements, and monitoring industry trends to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Evaluate subordinates' job performance by utilizing developed metrics, providing constructive feedback, and implementing improvement plans as necessary.
  • Develop comprehensive training programs for IT staff, addressing identified skill gaps and aligning with strategic goals.
  • Foster continuous learning and development to enhance the capabilities of the IT team and ensure proficiency in current and emerging technologies.
  • Play a pivotal role in developing and recommending the unit's annual budget, collaborating closely with the CFO.
  • Provide insights into resource allocation, technology investments, and cost-effective strategies. Ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment of the budget with organizational goals.
