Industrial Relations Specialist

A large chain of pharmacies is seeking a motivated and experienced Industrial Relations Specialist with HR Generalist experience to play a key role in their HR department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of HR duties including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, training, and performance management. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple HR functions across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruitment efforts, conduct interviews, prepare new hire packages, and oversee the onboarding process.
  • Assist with employee benefits programs, including onboarding and termination processes, and manage communications with stakeholders.
  • Handle disciplinary matters, process incident reports, and provide guidance on company policies.
  • Work with HR and Store Managers to create and execute employee engagement activities, maintain HR communications, and organize employee recognition programs.
  • Assist in planning and executing training activities, both internally and externally.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of performance management systems.
  • Assist with HR policy execution and ensure compliance with Jamaican labor laws.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, coordinate HR communications, and participate in HR-related projects and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Business Administration (Diploma in HR with 3+ years of experience may be considered)
  • Firm knowledge of Jamaica Labour Laws and IR practices
  • Experience with HR policies, procedures, and HRIS systems
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong communication skills
