The IR Investigator is responsible for coordinating the Industrial Relations Program for our staff for the promotion of good labor practices and harmonious relations between management, employees and other stakeholders.
The main responsibilities of the HR IR Investigator will be to provide support to the HR Manager and Director and other HR departmental staff while assisting with the day-to-day running of the HR Department. You are mainly responsible for coordinating the Industrial Relations Program for our staff for the promotion of good labor practices and harmonious relations between management, employees and other stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigate and manage all disciplinary matter escalated to the Human Resources Department.
Conduct investigatory interviews.
Create an Investigation report for all disciplinary hearings.
Provide representation for the company during disciplinary matter as may be required.
Help to identify and proactively resolve issues within the company.
Investigate and Manage Grievances reports/cases.
Monitor the HR Grievance mailbox on a day-to-day basis to ensure that all issues are handled in a timely manner.
Monitor the HR Disciplinary mailbox on a day-to-day basis to ensure that all issues are handled in a timely manner.
Attending meetings and workshops as required.
Develop and implement ideas that will effectively enhance our disciplinary and investigatory processes.
Identify gaps in the disciplinary management process and escalate to the HR Manager and Business Partner.
Any other HR related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BSc. Human Resources Management or other relevant degree
A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in an HRM/IR capacity
Specialized training in industrial relations is a plus
KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Excellent knowledge of the staff orders.
Good knowledge of the labor laws and Industrial Relations practices.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to conduct investigations and produce reports accordingly.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Good negotiation skills.
Excellent conflict management skills.
Excellent time management, planning and organizing skills.
Good presentation skills.

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Must be proactive, positive, and a self-starter with ability to think independently and work autonomously when necessary.
Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively on a team with others.
