POSITION SUMMARY:
The Incinerator Operator specializes in the operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of the incinerator on the destination. This position effectively sorts and processes all garbage as per the Company Regulations, Public Health, and Environmental Guidelines. This role operates with optimum safety and attention to detail are critical and of utmost importance. This position must understand Company's Environmental Policies, comply with safety, and be committed to safeguarding the environment at the destination.
All duties and responsibilities are performed following Royal Caribbean International's Brand Standards, the Royal Way philosophy, Company policies, and SOPs, Public Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the maintenance and conservation of the destination's environmental equipment, not limited to but including garbage separation, food digester (ADVATEC), incinerator, glass crusher, compactor, baler, pallet, and glass crusher and use of heavy equipment.
• Maintains and cleans the incinerator room and storage areas for processed garbage.
• Supports Public Health needs by assisting with the implementation of plans and programs (e.g., OPP+, IPM, Water Safety Plan, including Potable and Recreational Waters, Public Health).
• Demonstrates a safety-first culture.
• Sorts and separates glass, metal tins, and aluminum cans as per an Environmental Policy.
• Ensures all garbage is processed and stored correctly.
• Uses garbage handling equipment correctly (e.g., crushers, compactors, etc.)
• Responsible for mechanical maintenance of all incinerator's electric and hydraulic systems equipment.
• Completes maintenance and operation logs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Uses clear, concise, and professional communication in person, over the radio, and in written format.
• Demonstrates effective teamwork and collaboration, and time Management skills.
• Ensures the cleanliness and neatness of all garbage areas, tools, and equipment.
• Adheres to all Company policies regarding PPE and Chemical Management.
• Sets up and closes working areas as per schedule or as instructed by the Management Team.
• Participates in trainings and meetings. Adheres to a Company confidentiality agreement.
• Follows the destination's grooming standards. Ensures personal appearance, hygiene, and uniform appearance are always in accordance with Company policy. Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for Guests and the Team.
• Acknowledges and greets Guests, Visitors, and Team Members in public spaces with a warm, friendly greeting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A High School Diploma or basic education equivalency is required.
• Minimum three (3) years of progressive technical experience and training in a resort environment.
• Minimum two (2) years of operational experience in incinerator operation, repair, and garbage separation.
• Minimum one (1) year of technical experience onboard cruise ships.
• Previous Safety and Environment Training on the proper garbage disposal and handling of hazardous materials.
• Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse international environment.
• Must hold valid licenses or certificates in the area of technical specialty.
• Ability to maintain focus, work with strict deadlines, multitask and be flexible and adaptable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• All destination Team Members must be physically able to participate in emergency life-saving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.
