JOB TITLE: IT SYSTEMS ADMINSITRATOR

Harris Paints is a regional group of companies which manufactures, distributes, and retails paint, accessories, and high-performance coatings across the region.

As our business continues to expand its regional base, we are seeking a vibrant and passionate individual who is customer - centric and performance - driven to join our dynamic Information Technology (IT) team in Jamaica.

1. To work as part of the Harris/BH Paints IT support team to provide daily technical expertise to Harris/BH Paints’ Regional Operations
2. To maintain efficient and accurate operations of Harris/BH Paints Jamaica’ Information Technology
3. Install, maintain, and provide technical support of required business systems and other related vendor products
4. Provide technical support to assist computer system users
5. Conduct on site troubleshooting and repair hardware equipment
6. Conduct routine preventative maintenance of network and computer systems
7. Plan, develop and manage the company’s databases
8. Provide best practice insight on day-to-day database operations, including system and product administration functions
9. Proactively monitor all business systems and make recommendations relating to performance and efficiency of data storage

       10. Provide technical assistance to the user community and applications support staff specifically in Jamaica and                   across the region

 Skills, Competencies and Requirements: 

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of computer installation techniques and of various network equipment components used in a large complex data network environment
• Knowledge of IT problem determination, isolation and correction

• Knowledge of basic principles and terminology used in the network planning, installation and monitoring
• Knowledge of network monitoring equipment and its usage
• Ability to use logic and analysis to solve computer and systems problems
• A strong record of achieving results and meeting deadlines
• Excellent time management and analytical skills

Qualifications/Experience

• First degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology or equivalent certifications.
• · 3+ years’ experience in computer repairs, troubleshooting and diagnostics, working with Windows operating systems
• · Cisco Certification such as CCNA/CCNP
• · Strong knowledge of network hardware and operating systems
• · Knowledge of Microsoft virtualization technologies, strong network security skills

· Strong analytical skills for planning and budgeting
