Overview: KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS) is seeking a talented and motivated IT Risk and Issues Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will serve as an issue manager, overseeing the identification, investigation, tracking, and resolution of issues. You will analyze trends to drive process improvement and risk mitigation, collaborating with IT and other business functions. Reporting to the Director of Risk Management, you will advise project teams on alternative controls where security requirements are unmet, contribute to reporting, and produce key performance indicators. Additionally, you may self-manage small projects to ensure timely and effective completion.


Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, investigate, and track issues from identification through to resolution, encouraging timely remediation.
• ​Analyze issue trends to identify areas for process improvement and risk mitigation, and communicate results to leadership.
• ​Collaborate with IT and other business functions to perform risk reduction and mitigation activities.
• ​Advise and assist project teams on compensating control alternatives when security requirements cannot be met.
• ​Provide input into reporting and presentations to leadership, and produce relevant metrics and key performance indicators.
• ​Actively participate as a project team member or self-manage small projects, including facilitating team meetings, publishing meeting notes and action items, updating project documents and systems, and ensuring timely completion of assigned action items.

Must-Have Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or related field.
• ​Minimum 3 years' experience in risk, IT audit, issue management, or security within a large professional services environment.
• ​Experience in Data Analytics is preferred.
• ​Solid understanding of security principles, IT security controls, and related technologies and products.
• ​Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Special Conditions:

• Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• ​Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to use information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities.
• ​May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays.
