IT MANAGER

 Job Overview:

To contribute to the overall management and leadership of the TCIAA by being a member and an avid participant of the Management team. The IT manager is responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading computer-related activities in the TCIAA. To help determine the IT needs of the organization and is responsible for implementing computer systems to fulfill the organization's information systems requirements. The holder of this position will oversee all the IT services for all the public aerodromes and TCIAA properties throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands.

 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
  • Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs
  •  Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
  •  Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT
  •  Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance

  • Ensure security of data and network access
  •  Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in a timely manner
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures
  •  Expert knowledge of IT best practices, policies and regulations
  •  In-depth understanding of programming, computer science and digital security
  •  Great project management skills, including organization, planning, time management and prioritization
  • Supervising daily operations of network and server infrastructure
  • Aligning IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals
  • Managing IT budgets, forecast and enforcing cost-effectiveness
  • Evaluating risk, developing network recovery and backup processes
  • Assessing and purchasing new and replacement hardware
  •  Assuring that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes and regulations • Testing, troubleshooting and adjusting information systems to operate effectively • Any other duties and responsibilities assigned within the general scope of the position.

Qualifications

 • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience

• 5 years’ experience working in IT operations

• Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies 

• Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems

• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

• Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize

 • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices

 

Remuneration:  $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per annum.
