IT Lead (Infrastructure)

To proactively deliver a well-designed, secure and cost-efficient technology infrastructure that supports the Company’s business functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains, monitors, and supports the infrastructure environment and facilities in compliance with Company policies and procedures and IT standards to ensure the stability and cost effectiveness of systems, networks, applications and databases.
• Recommends improvements to infrastructure design and management.
• Plans the strategic technology architecture for IT infrastructure.
• Leads the design, implementation, and execution of backup and Disaster Recovery plan for infrastructure solutions.
• Keeps abreast of new developments and recommends changes/enhancements for improved systems availability, reliability, and performance.
• Monitors database performance and recommends changes.
• Designs and implements short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
• Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management.
• Contributes to the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the IT Leadership team.
• Conducts research and makes recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
• Establishes service level agreements with business units.
• Works with IT Lead Security in the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures.
• Conducts feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
• Defines hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders.
• Develops strategies for maintaining network and server infrastructure.
• Manages operational costs; conducts near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
• Establishes and maintains regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities.
• Manages a team of network engineers, server and storage administrators, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective actions.
• Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfil the job purpose.

Experience

• A minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant IT infrastructure experience with a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
