The IT / CCTV Assistant supports the IT department in troubleshooting, maintaining, and managing IT systems, including hardware, software, and networks.

  1. Technical Support:

    • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming requests and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
    • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including OS, network connectivity, and application issues.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving connectivity issues, both wired and wireless.
  2. System Maintenance:

    • Assist in maintaining and updating hardware and software inventories.
    • Conduct routine maintenance of computers, printers, and other office equipment.
    • Ensure security and updates on all systems by installing antivirus and security updates as required.
  3. User Training & Documentation:

    • Assist in preparing training materials and tutorials for users.
    • Maintain documentation on IT procedures, network configurations, and user support FAQs.
    • Conduct basic IT orientation sessions for new and existing staff.
  4. Networking:

    • Support the IT team in network maintenance, including the setup and troubleshooting of network hardware like routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Assist in monitoring network performance and alerting the IT team to any potential issues.
  5. System Upgrades and Installations:

    • Assist with the setup and installation of new hardware, software, and IT resources.
    • Support in upgrades of systems and software based on the needs of the organization.
    • Coordinate with vendors for the purchase and maintenance of IT equipment.
  6. Security and Compliance:

    • Help implement and monitor IT policies for data security and compliance.
    • Ensure that all IT systems comply with industry standards and internal protocols.
    • Regularly update and back up data to ensure data protection and recovery.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments.
    • Basic knowledge of CCTV and Alarm installations.
    • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other productivity software.
    • Knowledge of antivirus, firewall, and VPN solutions is preferred.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
