JOB SUMMARY

The Inventory Services Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that assigned commodities and materials are available to meet planned operations requirements by executing the following duties and responsibilities.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Management

• Manage the movement of Stock in and out of the storage locations ensuring accuracy and accountability.
• Conduct all activities of the desk specifically those related to requisitioning, receiving, storing, and issuing of goods and the overall management of the inventory through the computerized management system.
• Generate stock status reports as required utilizing the computerized management system.
• Conduct annual stock counts and other interim counts as required.
• Monitor re-order levels and, in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, manage the requisitioning of goods to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Liaise with the Procurement Officer to provide the necessary support information or clarifications necessary for the processing of purchase orders.
• Achieve zero stock outs on critical inventory and other stocks against forecast usage.
• Identify opportunities to reduce inventory levels without compromising operations.
• Ensure that a FIFO (First in First Out) system is applied.
• Create and maintain manual records as necessary to supplement the existing database as needed.

Warehouse Management

• Direct and manage procedures related to the receipt of consigned goods into inventory, in accordance with company procedures.
• Ensure that materials/goods are secured safely, ensuring that the arrangement is undertaken in an orderly manner for easy retrieval and in accordance with best practices.
• Identify and report items for disposal according to the Company’s policy and procedures.

Other

• Performs other related duties as required.  

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES             

• Ability to set up and maintain an Inventory Management Control System
• Woking knowledge of Inventory Accounting in accordance with accepted accounting principles
• Detail oriented
• Ability to manage stock levels

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

• Diploma in Purchasing or Logistics or Materials Management or Procurement/Supply Chain Management;
• Certification in Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, or a related field will be an asset
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Inventory Management including inventory accounting in accordance with GAAP.
