JOB SUMMARY

The Inventory Clerk reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for monitoring the quality of stock, performing regular stock counts, ensuring proper storage and organization of inventory, and maintaining accurate records of stock movements. This role is vital for ensuring the availability of goods, minimizing discrepancies, and preventing stock loss or damage.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIES

Stock Monitoring & Quality Control:

  1. Inspect the condition of goods upon receipt and periodically throughout storage.
  2. Ensure that all items are properly labeled and stored in the correct and respective location.
  3. Monitor stock levels to ensure that products are within acceptable quality standards and not expired, damaged, or obsolete.
  4. Report any discrepancies or damages to the supervisor and assist in resolving quality control issues.
  5. Follow guidelines for proper storage, ensuring stock is handled according to safety regulations and company standards.
  6. Perform regular stock counts (e.g., daily, weekly, or monthly) to ensure inventory records are accurate and up to date.
  7. Reconcile physical stock counts with computerized inventory records.

 

Inventory Counting & Auditing:

  1. Conduct cycle counts to verify inventory and assist with periodic full audits.
  2. Assist with identifying and investigating stock discrepancies or variances.

  Data Entry & Record Keeping:

  1. Accurately update inventory systems with stock movement data (incoming and outgoing stock, returns, adjustments).
  2. Maintain accurate and organized documentation for stock levels, movements, and audits.
  3. Track and report inventory levels to ensure optimal stock replenishment.

 Stock Replenishment:

  1. Communicate stock needs to management, helping to ensure that inventory levels meet demand.
  2. Coordinate with purchasing or procurement teams to facilitate timely restocking.
  3. Assist in organizing and preparing stock for shipping or distribution as needed.

 Collaboration & Communication:

  1. Work closely with warehouse, purchasing, and sales teams to support inventory management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of five (5) CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics & English A (Pass Grade must be I, II or III)

EXPERIENCE

  1. 2-3 years in inventory management, logistics, or warehouse operations
  2. Office Suite (MS Word & Excel)
  3. Forklift licesnce will be an asset

SKILLS

  1. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in all inventory records.
  2. Good organizational and time-management skills.
  3. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  4. Basic math skills for counting and tracking inventory.
  5. Strong communication skills to work effectively with different departments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Frequent walking
  2. Heavy Lifting & Moving: Lift, carry, and move large and heavy items, often weighing 50 pounds or more, both manually and using appropriate equipment.
  3. Material Handling: Transport and organize materials, goods, and products within the warehouse or loading area.
  4. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and wear required protective gear (e.g., steel-toed boots, gloves) while lifting and handling materials. Ensure adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  1. Fast-paced environment with varying workloads depending on shipping schedules and seasonal demands.
  2. May require working on weekends, evenings, or overtime based on operational needs.
  3. Exposure to noisy environments and warehouse equipment.
  4. Exposure to powder emissions
