Job Title: ICT Technician
Reports to: Managing Director
Supervises: None
Job Summary:
An ICT Technician is responsible for providing on-site technical support and
managing the upload of music content through network infrastructure to client
systems. This role involves visiting client sites, setting up and maintaining technical
equipment, resolving IT-related issues, and ensuring that music uploads to digital
platforms or servers are completed efficiently and securely. The role requires strong
technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of
network management, digital media, and content delivery systems.
1. Key Responsibilities:
a. Travel to client locations for on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and
system setup.
b. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networking
equipment at client sites.
c. Ensure all technical systems are set up correctly and operational, including
music-related technology and media storage systems.
d. Provide face-to-face technical support and training to clients as needed,
ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
e. Assist with IT projects as needed, such as software migrations, infrastructure
upgrades, and system implementations.
f. Coordinate and manage the upload of music content to digital platforms,
servers, or internal databases.
g. Ensure music files are correctly formatted, tagged, and optimized for upload
to various platforms or client systems.
h. Monitor and troubleshoot network issues related to music file transfers,
ensuring uploads occur without interruption.
i. Manage data integrity during music uploads and ensure all files are correctly
transferred and accessible.
j. Assist with the setup and maintenance of local area networks (LAN) and
internet connections at client sites to support music uploads and other ICT
services.
k. Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues during uploads and
day-to-day operations.
l. Ensure network security protocols are adhered to and recommend
improvements where necessary to ensure a stable and secure connection.
m. Maintain accurate records of client site visits, technical issues, solutions
provided, and system configurations.
n. Provide clear and detailed reports of completed tasks, system setups, and
troubleshooting procedures for both clients and internal teams.
o. Ensure proper documentation of all music uploads and network settings to
ensure continuity and ease of future support.
p. Provide excellent customer service by being responsive, professional, and
courteous to clients.
q. Explain technical concepts to clients in a simple and understandable manner.
r. Follow up with clients after service visits to ensure issues are resolved and
clients are satisfied with the solutions provided.
2. Qualifications:
a. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or
relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT
Professional).
b. Previous experience in an IT support role or as an ICT Technician is
preferred.
c. Experience in managing or assisting with ICT-related projects, including
deployments, upgrades, and installations.
d. Strong understanding of IT security best practices and data protection
protocols.
e. Familiarity with cybersecurity threats and how to mitigate risks.
3. Key Competences
a. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking protocols.
b. Ability to quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues, particularly
related to music uploads and network connectivity.
c. Strong analytical and logical thinking to troubleshoot complex problems in live
systems and client environment.
d. Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms for non-technical users.
e. Ability to adapt to changing client requirements or technical challenges,
particularly in dynamic media environments.
f. Willingness to travel and work across various client sites, managing diverse
technical setups.
g. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage
multiple requests simultaneously.
h. Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and ensure minimal disruption
to operations.
i. Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with other ICT staff
and departments.
4. Physical Requirements:
a. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
b. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds without a system.
c. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
