The Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is a specialized agency with the responsibility for the care and protection of children, especially those who are at risk or have been victims of abuse or neglect.

The Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is seeking to recruit for the role of ICT Technician, on contract.

The ICT Technician is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure within the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (CATT). This role includes troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, assisting with network management, and supporting end-users to ensure the smooth operation of ICT services. The ICT Technician will work under the guidance of the Enterprise ICT Manager to ensure effective IT service delivery.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
Desirous:
  • Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are preferred.

Principal Accountabilities/ Key Functions:

  • Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware and software.
  • Ensure proper setup of workstations, network devices, and other ICT equipment.
  • Support network operations by monitoring network performance and assisting with network connectivity issues.
  • Perform routine checks and basic configurations of network devices.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on IT systems, including updates and patches.
  • Perform backups and ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Provide user support and training on IT systems, applications, and best practices.
  • Assist users in understanding and effectively using IT resources and tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of ICT assets, configurations, and service requests.
  • Document issues and resolutions in the IT support ticketing system and prepare reports as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of IT projects, including new system deployments and upgrades.
  • Support the Enterprise ICT Manager in various IT initiatives and improvements.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers for equipment repairs, support, and procurement.
  • Ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are met and manage vendor relationships effectively.
  • Represent the ICT department in meetings and assist with other tasks as assigned by the Enterprise ICT Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the ICT team and organizational goals.
