The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Support Technician provides first line support to the company's network of operations.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Support Technician provides first line support to the company’s network of operations. The incumbent supports information technology (IT) savvy employees and assist non-IT employees who are having point of sale (POS), network, mobile device, system or application problems. The incumbent also provides database and record keeping support and performs various administrative duties. The incumbent handles different types of data as dictated by the industry he/she works in and is expected to operate in a highly confidential manner

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To support the day to day ICT function by being a first level responder to employee point of sale, network, ICT equipment (mobile and stationary) and application problems.
  • To install and configure computer hardware, software, networks, printers, scanners and other peripherals.
  • To assist with monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment and networks infrastructure.
  • To support the management of ICT asset inventory.
  • To act as a liaison among stakeholders to ensure new ICT solution implementation are done in accordance with company policy and industry best practice.
  • To ensure inventory availability for optimum uptime deterring disruptions.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology field from a recognized institution.
  • Diploma/certification in Database management and design from a recognized institution is an asset.
  • Diploma/certification in Network management from a recognized institution is an asset.
  • Certification in Verifone Point of Sale solutions is an asset.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in an ICT environment.
  • Experience supporting ICT equipment, applications, WAN and LAN environment.
  • Experience managing/supporting the SharePoint environment.
  • Experience implementing and supporting database systems.
  • Experience working with Application Program Interface (API) and middleware to link multiple independent databases is an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license.
