The Human Resources Officer is responsible for providing end-to-end HR support to assigned business areas.
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Officer is responsible for providing end-to-end HR support to assigned business areas. The incumbent manages and contributes to HR projects, change management initiatives and processes that drive HR agenda and supports the achievement of business goals.
Job Description:
Responsible for all aspects of the recruitment process, advises managers on candidate selection, makes recommendations, conducts and analyzes exit interviews when applicable.
Responsible for ensuring documents are submitted to payroll in a timely manner.
Responsible for monitoring new hire probationary periods with Line Managers to track performance by ensuring reviews are completed monthly, and gaps documented.
Provides advice and guidance to Managers and employees on the interpretation of the Company’s policies and procedures.
Provides guidance to Managers on treating with employee conflict, poor performance, grievances and disciplinary issues. Manage low performers including tracking PIPs and engaging the progressive disciplinary process where required.
Manages the employee complaint/grievance process and ensures IR investigations are conducted in a timely manner, prepares related documents and schedules meetings as required to bring escalated matters to a timely close, in keeping with good industrial relations practice.
Sources and recommends training providers and materials to meet identified business needs.
Works with employees and their Line Managers to identify career paths and provide coaching to aid career progression.
Supports Line Managers with the Performance Management process to ensure timely completion of employee appraisals.
Responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date employee records in both hard and soft copy files.
Education and Experience Requirements:
An Undergraduate Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or Psychology.
Professional Certification as a Certified Human Resource Professional.
Professional Certification in Industrial Relations and/or Labor Law will be considered an asset.
Minimum of three (3) years’ previous experience in an H.R. role.
Previous experience using SAP or an HRIS will be considered an asset.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Tools.
Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, timeliness, accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks in order of urgency and ability to exercise complete confidentiality in all matters relating to the department.
