Position Goals:

To manage HR operations in Jamaica, our HR Manager is involved in the overall strategy for ensuring that our team is focused on delivering best in class services. The HR Manager assures that all administrative tasks are done on-time and undisputedly to keep our workforce productive and motivated:

  • Payroll and Benefits Calculations
  • Liaison with suppliers for uniforms, PPE's, transportation and canteen services
  • Assesses and seek to improve ergonomic and sanitary factors
  • Implements best practices for Leadership, communication and best working climate

The HR Manager works collaboratively with Operation Managers locally and the Corporate Team in Mexico to define the policies, actions and resources needed for our company to be the top-rated working place in the Caribbean.

  • The HR Manager oversees talent acquisition operations, keeping our workforce filled with capable and productive people in alignment to our values.
  • Talent development and Career path for our employees comes under the HR Manager's responsibilities, for these important core tasks the HR Manager has a specialized team and the support from the Directors and the Mexico Team.
  • The HR Manager provides valuable insights into understanding the local culture and costumes, so all strategies are set to keep the employees engaged and looking after customer satisfaction.
  • The HR Manager collaborates to enforce the policies and codes in place, so our operation is compliant to any applicable certifications and international standards.
  • To support business needs and ensure proper implementation of company strategy and objectives.


Specific Functions:
 

  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
  • Defines the action plan, workloads and schedules for the HR and Training teams to hit the goals in a standardized way across our operations and shifts.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Plans budget and expenditure for local operations
  • Works collaboratively to draft the policies and disciplinary schedule to ensure that the best practices are in place and across our different work centers.
  • Liaises with HR and OHS departments at our clients to keep up-dated workplans and compliance.
  • On-boarding and training for new employees, along with assessing upskilling needs.
  • Provide his/her team assistance to employees for maximum satisfaction levels.
  • Monitors the volume of business and determines the appropriate work schedule
  • Establishes productivity and sets the necessary controls to ensure objectives are met. Requests additional personnel in case of sales peaks.
  • Maintain pay plan and benefits program.
  • Presents HR-Affairs results with an action plan for each deviation to the management team.
  • Facilitates the formation of effective teams and the development of a culture of continuous improvement throughout operations.
  • Coordinates and leads training and professional development programs for warehouse personnel, promoting the adoption of best practices and quality standards.

 

Requirements & Skills:
  • Proven working experience as HR Manager or another HR Executive
  • People-oriented and results-driven.
  • Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Working experience in similar conditions (Manufacturing, Warehousing, Delivery and related)
  • Working experience with entry level position
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership skills such as decision-making, motivation, and goal setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organization and time management abilities.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively.
  • In-depth industry knowledge.
  • Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Spanish speaking abilities are a bonus
