The Human Resource Officer - Generalist is responsible for providing support in the various Human Resource functions within each Business Unit.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate recruitment & selection activities.
  • Coordinate separation activities.
  • Update Time & Attendance, Recruitment and Manpower reports.
  • Assist in the administration and execution of Company’s Performance Management process.
  • Assists in the development and execution of customized internal training programs.
  • Process all Education Assistance applications and reimbursement claims in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
  • Assists in the review and update of the Company's Career Development Guide.
  • Update, log, review and inform Managers on status of employee leave records.
  • Ordering and managing of department's stationery.
  • Assist in the design and review of HR policies in consultation with the Human Resource Manager.
  • Assists in maintaining good relations with the Unions including effective management of the Collective Agreements; IR matters and negotiations.
  • Backup for the HR Officer- in other Business Units.
  • Distribute Future Cash and ESOP Statements.
  • Ensure employee records are kept up-to-date through maintenance of a comprehensive manual and automated filing system.
  • Participate in Committees and Teams as may be required; For example, HSSE Committee, Events Committee, Personnel Development & Employment Engagement.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all employee data and sensitive company information.
  • Undertake corporate assignments and projects as directed.
  • Adhere to all of the Company’s policies and procedures including IT and Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Polices.
  • Undertake any other job related tasks requested by the Director/Manager/Team Lead/Supervisor.
  • Audit Employee files to ensure all documents are stored and updated. Inclusive of job descriptions, contracts, terms and conditions of employment, special assignments, salary changes, job titles, reporting lines.

 EDUCATIONAL / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary level training in Human Resource Management or a related Social Science.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Human Resource environment
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc).
  • Excellent communication skills - oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills.
  • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
