Job description:

 

Job purpose:

To manage of all HR Operational aspects across the Digicel business entities within the St. Lucia Market. Implement, optimize and lead best policies, procedures, systems and practices in all aspects of the employee lifecycle i.e. Communications, Organizational Design, Recruitment, Selection & On-boarding, Compensation & Benefits and Employee Relations.

 

Key Objectives

  • Execute People Operations strategy for the St. Lucia business.
  • Manage all People & Culture matters, including but not limited to Recruitment, Engagement, Performance Management and Internal Communication to deliver a dynamic Digicel culture, underpinned by our values
  • Implement, maintain and optimize best practices in line with Digicel’s organizational vision & values and ensure consistent application
  • HR Budget execution within the company guidelines.

 

Main accountabilities:

  • With support from the relevant departments, offer expert IR, generalist and best practice HR advice to the business .
  • Build solid and strong rapport with managers, to ensure you have a full understanding of the business needs.
  • Produce key metrics and stats monthly, with recommendations on how findings can be employed for future strategy
  • Manage and maintain the employee database SF (HRIS) to ensure that all employee data (including compensation) is updated consistently to ensure complete accuracy.
  • Co-ordinate and administer the company’s compensation and benefits programs; making recommendations for salary movements and new hire salaries
  • Serve as a resource within the market leadership team to support policy, program and procedure development as well as legal and compliance issues and other HR projects as required
  • Under the direction of the Head of HR, identify and implement special programs and initiatives from time to time to support the HR direction across the small markets portfolio
  • Ensure the timely processing of payroll monthly

 

Qualifications, knowledge & experience:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline 
  • Minimum 4-5 years HR experience ideally in an international company
  • Sound working knowledge of a HR Operations and business partnering
  • Working knowledge if labour laws, regulations and compliance
  • Experience identifying training needs and facilitating learning to enhance employee skills
  • Ability to handle employee grievances, mediate conflicts and foster a positive work environment
  • Understanding of salary structures, tax calculations, benefits planning and payroll processing
  • Flexibility in adapting to changes and managing transitions effectively

 

Functional skills and abilities:

  • Exceptional analytical ability 
  • Excellent attention to detail required
  • Knowledge of manpower and budget planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be flexible and respond to a variety of issues in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Display high level of confidentiality
  • Advance working knowledge of MC Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Success Factors would be an asset
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in the consistent administration of policies and procedures to ensure a positive working environment is maintained
