The role of the Human Resource Assistant is to maintain the Company’s HRM System and provide administrative support for the department in its effort to deliver superior service to our employees and external stakeholders concerning staff related matters.

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic, people-oriented, and driven HR Assistant to support the operational activities of the HR Department.  Reporting to the Group HR Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Company’s HRM System and provide administrative support for the department in its effort to deliver superior service to our employees and external stakeholders concerning staff related matters.

 

Responsibilities:


Administration

  • Maintains a filing system for all documents used or generated.
  • Administers all benefits e.g. Loans, Health and Life Insurance, Superannuation, and occasionally Education Assistance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitors employees leave balances as needed.
  • Process monthly payments for Superannuation, Group Life and Health insurance
  • Provide monthly report for Superannuation, Group Life and Health insurance
  • Maintains inventory management system for stationery items
  • Handles all requests for employment verification and other letters for both employees and external organizations to facilitate employees’ personal transactions.
  • Observes and maintains strict adherence to established Quality, Safety, Health & Environment Policies, and standards.

 

HR General

  • Assists with Recognition, Engagement, and Communication activities.
  • Assists with the recruitment, performance management and training functions.
  • Responsible for handling the administrative aspects of the induction process such as preparation of the orientation schedule and ID requests, etc.
  • Handle queries from employees, ex-employees, external agencies and any other authorized person to maintain effective communications and good relations.
  • Supports and participates in Strategic HR initiatives/projects.
  • Undertake research on HR issues when required. 

 

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar/related capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or Management Studies or any other related discipline.
  • Knowledge of Local Labour Laws of Jamaica
  • Conceptual and practical knowledge of core HR processes/techniques
  • Familiarity with human resource management information systems
  • High level of computer skill
  • Proficiency in all forms of communication and at all levels
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Good administrative skills
  • Customer Focused
  • Kowledge of Odoo HRMIS would be an asset
