Hotel Account with at least 3 years experience preferably in the hotel industry.

Job Summary

  • Maintain Sub Ledgers
  • Maintain General Ledgers for hotel. and other related companies as required.
  • Perform reconciliations including Bank Reconciliations and other reconciliations as required.
  • Prepare audit schedules as required and liaise with Auditors.
  • Prepare and submit V.A.T. and Room Levy fillings and payments.
  • Prepare management accounts and financial statements as required.
  • Prepare deposits as required.
  • Prepare cheques as required.
  • Relieve other accounting staff who maybe absent due to sick leave, maternity leave or vacation.
  • This company participates in job cross-training and therefore the above summary and below main tasks may be revised as becomes necessary.

Key Result Areas/ Main Tasks

  • Enter records into sub ledgers and general ledgers and post any adjusting entries.
  • Reconcile sub ledgers, general ledgers, bank accounts, etc.
  • Prepare and check deposits and check monies brought in for accuracy.
  • Write cheques when required and make overseas wire transfer payments.
  • Prepare management accounts monthly.
  • Prepare Financial Statements quarterly.
  • Prepare audit schedules for auditors and ensure timely submission of information required to conduct audit.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure Audit is completed timely and accurately.
  • Ensure timely filing of statutory required documents and payments including N.I.S., P.A.Y.E., Room Levy, V.A.T. and Corporation Tax.
  • Liaise with government agencies should there be any problems with fillings and records.
  • Assist Financial Controller in accounts and audit related tasks as required.

 

Working Environment

  • Office hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm
  • Lunch period is for 30 minutes each day with two 10 minutes breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
  • On occasion you may be required to work on a weekend.
  • Office is open plan, air conditioned and a desk, chair and computer are provided.

 

Required Competencies and Skills

  • Knowledge of use of Quickbooks
  • Knowledge of use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel

  • Be courteous and polite to work associates and any persons interacting with in the course conducting business on behalf of the company.

  • Willing to learn any new accounting and payroll software the company may upgrade to in the future.
  • Participate in any training and job cross-training as may be required.
