Hostel Supervisor

The Role

The Hostel Supervisor provides support to the Hostel Manager by monitoring the activities of the officers living in the hostels, ensuring full compliance with the company’s rules, and guidelines and also ensuring compliance with the lease agreements for the properties.

What You'll Be Doing

• Routinely visit hostels
• Ensure that officers are compliant with all the hostel rules and the company’s Disciplinary Policy
• Maintain an accurate, organized and detailed database for occupancy in the hostels
• Manage the provision of meals to newly recruited officers until they begin to receive a salary
• Oversee the proper maintenance of company property and equipment by officers
• Ensure that documents for salary deductions are completed in a timely manner for rental arrangements
• Ensure that all requests for cessation of salary deduction are processed.
• Provide mentoring and counselling to officers when necessary
• Assist officers with conflict resolution support when and where necessary
• Welcome newly assigned officers to the hostels
• Assign officers to dormitory facilities (beds, mattresses, etc)
• Initiate disciplinary process if required
• Ensure facility is safe, well-kept and hygienic at all times
• Perform any other task in relation to the job as required.

• Excellent communication skills, including written and spoken English
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office Suite environment
• Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Customer Service, Human Resource Management or Facilities Management
• At least three (3) years’ experience in a Human Resource Environment
• Must own and operate a reliable motor vehicle
