Heath, Safety & Environment (HSE) Snr. Officer

Ensures the EHS and GMP programme are been met through monitoring and assessing the hazardous and unsafe situations and to develop measures to mitigate. Assists in promoting and maintaining an awareness programme and assist in detecting and resolving, timely, employee relations issues.

Job Title: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)  Snr. Officer

Qualifications and Experience:

• First Degree in any related field from a recognized institution;
• Three (3) years’ experience in the EHS / GMP field, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015
• Any similar combination of education and experience
•

• Strong interpersonal, problem solving and negotiation skills- flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels, ability to develop strong trusting relationship
• Excellent time management skills –  self directed and motivated, ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
• Positive attitude and can work independently and in a team
• Ability to pay attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. To conduct technical and administrative functions to align with international standards
2. To conduct role-specific EHS/Food safety orientation for new employees.
3. Consult with line management and provide EHS/Food safety guidance when appropriate.
4. Co-ordinates EHS/Food Safety training/refresher training for all category of employees.
5. Ensure that all government agency regulations are complied with. 
6. Development and of JSA for employees.
7. To prepare schedule for trade visits and audits for the locations.
8. Visits and audits are to be done weekly and reports submitted bi-monthly.
