The Health & Safety Analyst is responsible for the management of Health & Safety in the workplace with the goal of reducing risks, preventing injuries and minimizing property damage.

Objective:

The Health & Safety Analyst is responsible for the management of Health & Safety in the workplace with the goal of reducing risks, preventing injuries and minimizing property damage. This role involves managing the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

 

Main Responsibilities include:

· Promote employee awareness and ensure compliance with HSMS.

· Ensure compliance with H&S Global Standards and the Barbados SHAW Act and Regulations.

· Conduct Annual Risk Assessment and Legal Gap Analysis.

· Assist teams by reviewing and revising pre-task risk assessment.

· Ensure completion of Method Statements & Permit to Work.

· Implement Minimum Health Check Requirements & Occupational Health programs.

· Develop and prepare materials to communicate safety awareness.

· Communicate H&S alerts.

· Liaise with Government officials and experts on application of acts, regulations and policies.

· Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and monitor corrective actions.

· Oversee certification of equipment, fire systems, and incident investigations.

· Submit weekly report to H&S Manager or designate as instructed.

· Ensure 100% compliance to HSMS Audit Criteria.

· Perform any other job-related functions as directed by the H&S Supervisor.

 

Required Education / Expertise / Skills:

  • Technical or Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with various Health & Safety Management Systems (HSMS).
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification / IOSH certification.
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR.
  • Strong ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical ability to walk and remain active for extended periods.


Required Experience:

Minimum experience of 2-5 years in a similar position.
