Job Title: Head of Technology
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Direct Reports: Infrastructure Network Support Technician, Senior Systems Administrator, Information System Officer, Senior Business Analyst
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic IT Leadership:
- Develop and execute the IT strategy in alignment with the company’s business objectives.
- Provide visionary leadership to the IT department, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance business operations and competitive advantage.
Technology Management:
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of technology solutions and infrastructure.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems and networks.
- Manage the development and maintenance of software applications, ensuring they meet business needs.
Cybersecurity and Risk Management:
- Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect company data and systems from threats.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.
Data Management and Analytics:
- Oversee the management of data resources, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security.
- Implement data analytics solutions to provide insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Promote the use of data and analytics across the organization to drive business performance.
IT Governance and Compliance:
- Keep abreast with Government policy and standards for digital and information technology
- Establish and maintain IT governance frameworks to ensure effective management of IT resources.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to information technology.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure IT performance and impact.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
- Oversee the procurement of IT equipment, software, and services, negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
- Ensure optimal utilization of technology resources to maximize value and efficiency.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Promote professional development and training opportunities for IT staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with executive leadership and other departments to understand business needs and align IT initiatives accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Communicate IT strategy, initiatives, and performance to the board of directors and senior management.
- Perform any other job -related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Digital Transformation, Information Technologies, Information Security.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar are preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a track record of managing complex IT environments and projects.
Skills and Competencies:
- Experience working in digital transformation projects in the last five (5) to seven (7) years
- Training in modern technologies
- Strong strategic planning and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications.
