HEAD OF OPERATIONS – JETPAK (JAMAICA)

 

 JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Operations – Jetpak (KIN) will set up, oversee and strategically manage Jetpak KIN’s entire operational function, ensuring efficient and effective management of all operational activities, including logistics, warehousing, distribution and customer service, while maintaining a competitive operational cost benchmark. 

 

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of daily operations, driving continuous improvement, optimizing resource use and aligning the operational team with overall business goals. The position holder will be required to lead multiple teams to deliver service excellence focusing on cost control, customer service, safety and quality management and compliance with regulations both internal and external.

 

KEY DELIVERABLES

  • Continuous improvement:

Develops and promotes a culture improvement by consistently measuring the internal and external factors that drive business growth.

 

  • Growth:

Increases the customer base and market share in each market launched increasing our Revenue and profitability.

 

  • Financial Management:

Reconciles the duty payments to customs and collects same from customers after clearance.

 

  • Product development and expansion:

Leads the team in developing and expanding the Jetpak product, to meet the demands of growing e-commerce.

 

  • Customer Experience:

Ensures the delivery of an exceptional customer experience to our customers proven by exceeding our Net Promoter Score target.

 

  • Warehouse Systems Management:

Ensures the smooth function of warehouse management systems, driving process improvement and efficiency. Focuses on methods to optimize warehouse package capacity, floor utilization and dispatch.

 

  • Dispatching and Scheduling Optimization:

Ensures the development of a time and efficient dispatch and scheduling function, meeting delivery standard, optimizing driver routes and reducing downtime.

 

  • Operational efficiency:

Ensures the safe and reliable delivery of all packages within the defined SLA. Leads the team in developing measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.

 

  • Safety:

Guides the advancement of the organization’s safety culture by ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines.

 

  • Policy Compliance:

Ensures compliance with all legislative and operational policy requirements. 

 

  • Reporting:

Ensures the delivery of weekly and monthly operational reports, with a view to supporting effective data analysis and decision-making.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

You must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Administration or equivalent with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a Logistics environment, five (5) of which must be in a managerial role.   You must also have previous experience working in a courier/express/ parcel delivery organisation and showcase strong knowledge of the Courier Operations process.  Working knowledge of Warehouse Operations and systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, is essential.

 

You will have a proven record of accomplishment in a similar role with a proven track record of successful Warehousing and Operations management and must be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, design, testing and implementation relating to Operations management.

 

You must have a strong customer orientation, while focusing on profitability and productivity, excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
