About the Role:
The Head of Marketing articulates our Island Grill value proposition to the consumer, finds the best means of engaging all our stakeholders, and relentlessly differentiates Island Grill through excellent customer experiences.
The incumbent is expected to continuously observe internal operational realities and external market trends, orient their team towards actionable marketing-opportunities, decide on the best course of action to achieve objectives.
The Head of Marketing is a leader and manager first, and a marketer by training and experience. The main responsibilities include:
- Articulating, evaluating, developing, and implementing marketing operations with a clear relevance to the Jamaican market. This includes our customer experience and pricing strategies.
- Ensuring our brand message is consistent across all marketing channels and communications. This includes advertising, digital marketing, PR and events.
- Developing promotional calendars, products and programs, to match the Jamaican consumer’s seasonal wants.
- Analyzing and identifying the products, process, and promotions which differentiate Island Grill from our competitors.
- Advising on the innovation process to increase the value we create for our customers.
- Working closely with the innovation team and department heads on brand and promotion initiatives.
- Continuously evolve Island Grill’s customer experience standards by tracking and measuring customer experience metrics.
- Conduct customer, brand, and product research initiatives.
- Developing training and communication to increase awareness and knowledge of our customer experience standards.
- Continually analyze market, consumer, and industry trends, as well as the competition, to identify changes, conflicts, and new opportunities.
- Analyzing and articulating sales data on locations, menu, transactions, day parts, and spend.
- Analyzing sales potential for new locations opportunities for new Island Grill store locations.
- Work closely with Operations to develop and implement restaurant-level marketing plans. Report on restaurant marketing-performance both quarterly and annually.
- For new and existing products: develop the marketing strategy; sales forecasting; demand and product-lifecycle planning; and product branding plans. Ensure that all stakeholders are geared accordingly.
- Optimize Marketing Spend, by assessing the effectiveness of marketing programs with the purpose of continually improving resource allocation and efficiency.
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for Marketing Department
- Negotiate with media partners, and promotion partners to guarantee advantageous contracts.
- Manage deadlines and deliverables of all contracts, and promotion partners.

- Superior analytical, organizational and time management skills
- The ability to influence and inspire change and manage relationships effectively
- A broad understanding of local and global QSR Industry Trends, as well as marketing best practices
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master of Science in Marketing or similar qualification.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Marketing
- Impeccable organizational, time management and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of the current and emerging marketing technology landscape (e.g., familiarity with customer data platforms, data management platforms, marketing automation, content management systems, digital asset management etc.) and a constant desire to learn more
- 5 years in Consumer Brand Management or Marketing, preferably experience within Fast Food Industry or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods industries.
- Proven track record of success in developing and executing marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, consumer engagement, and sales growth.
