Job Title: Head of Finance Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Direct Reports: Financial Controller, Treasury & Investments Manager
Key Responsibilities: Financial Management:
Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable financial standards and regulations.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial management.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the budgeting process, including the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Allocate resources and manage cash flows.
Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to senior management.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Payments and Payroll Administration:
Manage the administration of payments to vendors and customers, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Oversee payroll administration, including the calculation and disbursement of salaries, wages, and benefits.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, labour regulations, and internal policies related to payments and payroll.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present regular financial reports to the Board of Directors, senior management, and other stakeholders.
Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to address identified financial risks.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Cascade agreed KPIs aligned to the business strategy to the finance teams
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Manage relationships with banks, investors and other strategic partners.
Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and financial institutions to ensure compliance and effective financial management.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, customers, and partners.
Represent the finance function in internal and external meetings as required.
Perform any other job -related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior finance role.
Extensive knowledge of financial reporting standards, budgeting, and financial analysis.
